| In this study realized at the olive nurseries in Kemalpaşa and Edremit in 1993, weeds were discriminated according to their species and experiments were established with the aim determining effects of some herbicides on the most problematic ones.
Surveys were carried out in 4 different periods (March, May-June, July-August, September-October) at the nurseries in Kemalpaşa and Edremit.
109 species of weeds from 30 families were discriminated at the both areas. 17 of these species belong to 1 family of monoctyledone and 92 of them belong to 29 families of dicotyledone.
Herbicide experiment were done in 2 different methods as pre and post emergence.
Prometryne, Linuron, DCPA and Trifluralin were tested on the broad-leaved weeds as pre-emergence.
Effectiveness of Fluazıfob-p-butly, Fenoxaprop-ethly and Quizalafob-p-ethyl were studied on the narrow-leaveed weeds as post-emergence application. The minimum effect of the studied herbicides on Sorghum halepense was 80 percent while they were less effective, maximum 50 percent, on Setaria sp. |
