Proje adı : STUDIES ON THE BIOLOGY, DISTRUBITION AND POPULATION DYNAMICS IN RELATION TO THE CONTROL OF PARLATORIA OLEAE (COLVEE) (HOM; DIASPIDIDAE) IN DIFFERENT OLIVE CULTIVARS IN İZMİR PROVINCE (1995)
 Hazırlayanlar : Bülent GÜMÜŞAY
In this study, distribution and density of P.oleae has been determined at olive groves in İzmir. According to the results, density of the pest was generally low. However it was higher in irrigated olive groves especially in those set up with Domat cultivar. According to the biological studies, the pest gave two generations a year and generally hibernated as adult female while a few were in the form of second stage larvae in winter. It has been determined that hatching dates of mobile larvae, which establish a base for chemical control, occurred in the last week of May for first generation and in the end of July for second generation. As the result of examining population dynamics, natural deaths in first stage larvae were found to be pretty high, parasitism in adult females and second stage larvae were also at a high level. Aphytis mytilaspidis L.has been determined as ecto parasitoit of this pest.
