| The germination capacity of the Leccio-Frantoio (mixed) and Wild Olive stones was tested. The tirials have shown that the stones kept in 18 months gave the best germination.
The types of stratification in beds and under mound seem effective on the stones kept in short duration, but it was not clear on the slones kept in 18 months before sowing.
Un-stratified stones gave a little high percentage of germination in 1974. But, in 1975 the highest germination was found with the stratified ones. The heat treatment have had no effect on the germination. |
