| This research was made to show the symptoms of Fe, Zn, Mn and B deficiencies in olive trees and to determine the levels of these elements in the leaves when the symtomps appeared.
Two years old Memecik variety saplings obtained from its cuttings were used in the research.
The symptoms were tried to be produced by giving periodically specially prepared nutrient solution to the saplings grown in perlisol placed in plastic pots. Fe, Zn, Mn, B analysis were made on the leaves taken in the three physiological periods during three years.
In addition to the analysis, the symptoms seen on the stems and leaves were observed too.
According to the results Fe and Zn deficiencies were not observed. Mn deficiency was seen when the Mn content was 11.4-13.0 ppm on the leaves. When boron deficiency was seen, B contents of leaves were found as 15 ppm.
In the diagnosis of micro-nutrient elements, the best way to reach to the result is to combine the symptoms seen on the leaves by the leaf analysis. |
