| In this study; the effects of irrigation to production and its quality is investigated on various growth periods of olive tree. Memecik olive variety in Kemalpaşa - İzmir area was used during 1980-1987 years in the trial.
According to results of the experiment, irrigation in the pit hardening period is effective on production. Especially two irrigations, at the end of blooming and pit hardening period are the most effective treatments. The production increases 54.21 % according to the unirrigated conditions.
Irrigation also effects to 100 fruit weights and flesh/pit ratio. Another result is about ripening. When the trees are irrigated during fruit color changing period, ripening of fruit is delayed.
There is no clear differences on percentage of oil in the different irrigation periods. |
