| In this study, the influence of boric acid on the difficult rooting cvs. (Domat, Uslu and Memecik) has been investigated in the years of 1987-1989.
Two different treatment were applied.
1. One spraying with boric acid of 0, 100, 200, 400, 600, 800 ppm on the mother plants.
2. Eight times spraying with boric acid of 0, 100, 200, ppm on the cuttings during their rooting period in the greenhouse for 10 days intervals.
The study was established according to the randomized blocks with three replicates. Each treatment consisted of 50 cuttings. These were planted in grenhouse under mist propagation after having been dipped 4000 ppm IBA solution.
At the end of the trial, it was found that the influence of boric acid on rooting rate changed according to the cultivars. Boric acid had no effect in Domat and Memecik cvs. from the view point of rooting rate except Uslu cv. In the cuttings taken in spring from Uslu cv. Boric acid concentrations 100 and 200 ppm increased the rooting rate from 18 % to 38 %. |
